Ian Campbell Scholarship

Background:
Dr Ian Campbell was a founder and President of the Association. He was instrumental in setting up the Trust Board and was Chairperson for several years.
He gave a great deal of time and effort to both the Association and the Trust, and the community of disabled has been enriched by his wide knowledge of rehabilitation.
This scholarship is in recognition of this.

Applications are open to individuals committed to tertiary study and in need of assistance for payment of study fees, educational equipment or books.
It is a requirement that applicants be New Zealand citizens permanently resident in New Zealand.

The Panel:
Mr Paul J Curry (Chair of the Trust)
Murray Campbell

The objective of the Scholarship Panel is to ensure the Scholarship assists in the meeting of costs for people with paraplegia and physical disabilities or those working in this field to undertake or further a course of tertiary study.
This study needs to meet at least one of the objectives of the Trust.
NB the study of Occupational Therapy on its own is not generally considered sufficient towards the criteria of “working in this field”.

The Process:
The Trust determines the amount to be distributed each year.
The Panel determines the number of scholarships to be awarded each year.
Applicants will be advised of the Panel’s decisions by letter in December.

Applications close 1 October each year.
